Announcing Hid.im
A few weeks ago Kevin came to me one day and said, "For the last 4 nights, instead of sleeping I have been browsing 4chan instead." He had noticed that many places would not allow torrent attachments, but almost everywhere supported images. He then described to me a process where .torrent files could be converted to images and posted to the web.
Today, we're releasing Hid.im, a system for doing just that. The site will convert your torrents into images, and a handy bookmarklet will convert them back into torrents. Since the bookmarklet has a few limitations, there is also a Firefox extension. Everything (site, extension, bookmarklet) is open source. Check it out and let me know what you think.
